Roasted natural cashew nuts 500g

Plain roasted cashews are our most consistently popular item in the nuts and dried fruits section. No added salt — just a dry roast that draws out the characteristic buttery notes of the nut itself. The manufacturer's label reads one hundred percent roasted cashews, with no added oil or flavoring.

The 500 g bag is the right size for a family aperitif spread or a week of snacking at home. Available for in-store pickup at our Paris location, it sells just as well for snacking as it does for cooking: stir-fried vegetables, Thai salads, granola.

What the label says

\n

Origin EU/non-EU, processed in France. This dual-origin labeling is standard for cashews: the raw nut arrives from Southeast Asia (Vietnam, India) or West Africa, and the roasting is carried out on French soil. That roasting step is what makes all the difference in the final flavor.

One hundred percent roasted cashews, no added oil. Allergens: cashews. May contain traces of peanuts, other tree nuts, sesame, milk, soy, mustard, and gluten — standard cross-contamination notice for a multi-product facility, worth noting for those with relevant sensitivities.

French roasting after import is a genuine craft skill, allowing producers to fine-tune the flavor profile to European palates — a light amber color, milky aromas with no bitterness. Serious roasters work in short batches (15–20 minutes) at carefully controlled temperatures to preserve the cashew's soft, yielding interior.

Serving and cooking ideas

\n

Serve as-is at aperitif time. You can also roughly chop them and toss them into an Asian-style salad — cucumber, green mango, cilantro, lime juice, nuoc-mâm — where they provide the rich, fatty texture that this type of salad often lacks.

In cooking, give them a second dry toast for five minutes at 300°F (150°C) to deepen the flavor before adding them to a curry, a homemade pad thai, or a pilaf. Roughly chopped with a knife, they make a beautiful garnish for a butternut squash velouté or a chocolate-banana dessert.

For baking, blitz them in a food processor with a little oil and you get a silky cashew butter that works beautifully in place of peanut butter in cookies or a dressing.

To make cashew butter at home, process 250 g of roasted cashews in a food processor for 8 to 10 minutes, scraping down the sides regularly. The natural oils release gradually, yielding a smooth, creamy texture with no additions needed. It's a gentler, less allergenic alternative to peanut butter for many people.

For fans of Indian cooking, roasted cashews are the signature ingredient in korma — the rich, creamy sauce built on soaked and blended cashews. Using roasted cashews gives a more aromatic, deeper korma than the classic raw cashew version. Three tablespoons of ground cashews in a sauce for four people is all it takes.

At our Paris store, cashews have become the most popular nut for aperitifs in recent years, overtaking almonds and walnuts. Their natural sweetness and melt-in-the-mouth texture make them universally appealing, loved by kids and adults alike.

In-store and delivery

\n

The 500 g bag is available for pickup at our Paris store (58 rue Tiquetonne, Paris 2nd arrondissement) or for shipping anywhere in France. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Once opened, transfer to an airtight jar: cashews absorb moisture quickly and lose their crunch.

We also carry a raw cashew variety on the shelf, which is ideal for plant-based preparations (nut milk, dairy-free cheese). For snacking or hot cooking, the plain roasted version is the simplest choice — no additional toasting required.

At our Paris store, plain roasted cashews are one of our fastest-moving products — the shelf is restocked several times a week to ensure freshness. We remind customers who worry about rancidity: the bag you pick up here is rarely more than a month out from production.

Frequently asked questions

\n

Does no salt mean less flavor?

\n

It's a different experience. Salt masks the cashew's natural buttery notes. Without it, you pick up the milky character of the nut much more clearly. To salt at home, finish with a pinch of fleur de sel and a drizzle of neutral oil.

\n

What's the difference from a W240 cashew?

\n

W240 is a commercial grade (Wholes, 240 nuts per pound) — a medium-to-large size, graded specifically for snacking. The plain roasted cashew on this page follows the French manufacturer's standard sizing.

\n

Can they be used in hot cooking?

\n

Yes. Add them toward the end of cooking to preserve the crunch. A cashew cooked for too long turns soft and loses its roasted aroma.

\n

How long does an opened bag keep?

\n

Four to six weeks in an airtight jar stored in a dry place. In the refrigerator, they keep for two to three months with no noticeable loss of quality.

\n

Is the cashew a tree nut?

\n

Botanically, no — it is the seed of a pseudofruit. However, for food allergy purposes, it is classified as a tree nut under European regulations.

\n

Is there a difference compared to Indian cashews?

\n

Indian cashews have historically set the global benchmark — consistent sizing, rigorous sorting. Today, Vietnam supplies an equivalent product at a lower cost. For this bag, the EU/non-EU origin indicates a blend depending on current supply, roasted and processed in France.
