Description
This Kahuet crunchy peanut butter is made in France by NutExpert, in Marigny-le-Châtel, in the Aube. The recipe fits on one line: roasted peanuts, 100%, with no added sugar, salt or oil. The label states that the peanuts come from outside the European Union. The crunchy version keeps clearly visible pieces of peanut in a golden paste.
Spread it on toast, a pancake or slices of banana, stir it into porridge or add a spoonful to a smoothie. On the savoury side, it is the base for a satay sauce with soy sauce, lime and a little chilli, or for a mafé, the West African peanut stew. In baking, it goes into cookies, a marbled brownie or a milk chocolate ganache. With no added salt, you season it yourself.
As the label says, a little peanut oil can rise to the surface: this is normal, just stir it back in with a spoon. Keep the jar in a dry place at room temperature and use it within 3 months of opening. You will also find it on the shelves of our shop, 58 rue Tiquetonne, Paris.
