Description
Cruzilles tangy mini pastilles are fruit jellies from Auvergne shaped into small discs, sold in an orange 100 g window box. The Clermont-Ferrand master confectioner, in business since 1880, makes them with fruit purées of EU origin. Their tang comes from the citric and malic acid in the recipe, which leave a slight prickle on the tongue from the first bite.
They differ from the same company's Pavés Grande Tradition in their small size, round shape and flavours: lime, raspberry, passion fruit and mango, tangerine, coconut and grapefruit. According to the maker's product page, several flavours are built on an apple or apricot base, for example 54% apple for the lime one. Serve them with coffee or tea at the end of a meal, or fill a box of petits fours alongside macarons and truffles. Their size suits buffets and afternoon snacks.
Cruzilles recommends keeping the box in its original packaging, between 15 and 18 °C, away from heat and moisture. You will also find this box on the shelves of our shop, 58 rue Tiquetonne, Paris.
