EFTI Almond-Hazelnut Gluten-Free 140g ALL YEAR

Efti amande are sweet bites made by Maison Toussaint, an artisan biscuit maker based in Arcelot, in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, since 1996. French almonds and hazelnuts are roasted, then coated in a vanilla meringue, and each piece is shaped by hand. The result is a small golden cluster with an uneven outline, crunchy, where the pieces of nut lead every bite. Nuts make up more than half of the recipe: 31% almonds and 20% hazelnuts, according to the box.

The recipe contains no flour and the box is marked gluten free. It is made in a workshop that also handles eggs, milk, nuts and cereals containing gluten. Serve Efti with a coffee or a tea, or next to an ice cream, a chocolate mousse or a citrus salad. Roughly crushed, they add crunch to a yoghurt, a panna cotta or a bowl of red berries. The yellow box has a window that shows the biscuits, which makes it an easy small gift to tuck into a food hamper.
